The Zan Foundation aims to conduct research on the following topics under the Democratization Programme:

• To carry out quantitative and qualitative works for the solution of the Kurdish issue.
• To carry out research in the fields of social equality, gender equality and justice.
• To produce and carry out projects in the field of Human Rights.
• Determining the current situation on freedom of expression and belief, analyzing and realizing projects that will contribute to social transformation.
• To work together in the framework of joint projects with institutions working on similar issues in the local, national and global areas.
